MMS PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
Master of Management Studies (MMS) of the University of Mumbai :
- To provide students with thorough grounding in general management through holistic education.
- To develop a deep appreciation of issues related to developing, nurturing and projecting competitive advantage globally.
- To develop professional, socially responsible leaders with ability to function in different cultures and contexts.
- Two Years, Four Semesters.
- The University of Mumbai has revised the MMS curriculum with effect from 2008 to make the curriculum contemporary in tune with changing industry requirements.
- Almost all courses are internally assessed, except 2 papers in the 2nd year, thereby providing wide scope to Institutions
- All courses are divided into Core, Major and Electives.
- XIMR follows the Case Study method extensively, drawing on cases from Harvard, Ivey, INSEAD, LBS, etc. The focus is on peer to peer learning, and providing an enabling environment to help participants raise their thinking to a higher level. Lectures, team work, assignment etc will supplement case studies. Our team of highly dedicated experienced faculty create an intense academic environment. The course is designed for a high level academic rigour. XIMR provides tutorials and fast track learning for high achievers to enable each student to reach his/ her maximum potential.

- The institute has a well stocked learning centre to provide extensive literature on all aspects of Management. XIMR subscribes to the world's leading online database like EBSCO, ProQuest, JSTOR, Harvard Business School course materials & CMIE Prowess that provides access to thousands of journal archives.
- The Institute has fully equipped air conditioned lectures halls with mini theatre design that facilitates case study discussions. All conference halls are provided with the latest equipment & facilities.
- Open air spaces are available for case/ assignments after class. This is meant to enhance peer-to-peer learning in natural surroundings.
- In all internally assessed courses, 50% marks for continuous classroom assessment as per faculty’s plan and balance 50% for written examination.
- In the University Papers, 40% of marks will be assessed internally, and 60% will be assessed through University Examination.
